Hints and Tips for those Sitting on Both Sides of the
Interview Table
Employer Candidate
• Check you have the right CV
• Avoid across the table interviews – use a
round table
• Have the job description to hand
• Be on time, smartly presented and offer
refreshments
• Try to ‘break the ice’ with the candidate in
order to relax them
• Be consistent with your questioning of all
candidates
• Base questions around required competencies
